Objectives

ReactivUfo is software that allows to drive an automatic recording station.

The software design has been guided by these objectives:

• Detection of events like UFO.
• Scalable, easy to use, flexible to adapt to any type of station.
• Components acquisition are as far as possible affordable and easy to find.

Main Duties

• Multi components: webcam, camera, digital camera,  3D magnetic field, acquisition card (numeric and analogic)
• And future: sound, electromagnetic spectrum.
• Drive external equipment on detect event : tracking, alert ...
• Linked components to form a coherent laboratory (image processing, mask, detection, registration ...)
• Planner: configuration change, restart the PC, drive external equipment ...
• Multilingual, english and french.
• Use fully multi-core processors for PCs more powerful,
• Dynamic resource management of the station to avoid congestion and use of cheap PCs.
• Module analysis and archiving (AnalysUfo) to help sort rapid catch
• Extraction of videos and photos.
• Guarantor of authenticity: the capture files (file type RUC: Reactive UFO Capture) are encrypted, not modifiable to avoid hoaxes. The capture file can be used as evidence ... after expertise.

Technical Requirements

• Runs on Windows 98, XP, Vista (32-bit Vista only for AFN)
• Memory: the software adapts to the available memory. It operates from 512 mb, but for optimum operation 1GB is recommended (if 2 go Vista!). The amount of memory needed depends largely on the equipment connected to the station. In my case, with a Webcam, a DSLR and a capture card, 1 gb is the minimum.
• Hard drive: Again it depends on the use made! catch of the day are very expensive such as the outbreak is common. The software installation requires only 10MB.
• Processor: it is possible to configure the lab to use processors just old: number of frames per second, detection algo ... can limit treatment to achieve. So a processor can do the former case.
• Note: ReactivUfo full use of multi-core processors, a PC with a processor like this, common now, will optimize the operation.
